One little word…

How does one little word impact your life? In the hustle and bustle of the year does your word fade? Do you find at the end of the year you’re left grasping for how it manifested in your daily world?

Or is your word deeply rooted within your heart? Even if it seems on the surface you’ve forgotten the work is still happening?

Last year my word was Release. I had no idea what that would look like for me in 2015. And yep I forgot all about my olw through the course of life. But at the most important moments it would come back to me, allowing me to follow through on exactly what needed doing.

So what did I release? Well for starters I released a lot of feelings, some old, some new. Some that made me angry and some that made me blue.

I let go of frustration and resentment so I had room for joy, curiousity and happiness.

I released things. Possessions. I decluttered a bunch and passed on what was usable to anyone who needed it.

I released joy into others lives. I tried to be a light in the dark, the smile to tears, the warm embrace when it was all just going wrong.

I released expectations, and hopes.

As I looked back over 2015 I saw how often I failed to remember my olw, but I saw that because I allowed it to become rooted in my heart that it never forgot me.

So what’s your one little word for 2016?

Will you let it root in your heart? Will you find satisfaction in knowing at the end of the year you will clearly see how decisions were made with your word in mind? I hope you do, and I hope you’ll share with us!

Here are some of the gals from dropping anchors words.

Hello, I just started taking a look at your blog and really enjoyed the posts! My husband and I are in the process of becoming foster parents and I just started a blog about our journey. I can’t wait to have our first child placed! Thank you for sharing your stories!

  2. Just found you and am so grateful. I think my word is going to be “Connect.” I have so many projects I want to do (all good things), but they pull me away from the people in my life.
